Yishin is in her final year of the International Development Studies program at the University of Toronto. She brings with her several years of research and virtual community management experience to the  Canada's World project team. In the past, Yishin has conducted various communitiy research projects in China, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka. She has also worked as an intern for a vocational traning program in Sri Lanka conducted by World University Service of Canada. Yishin is passionate about lifelong learning and knowledge sharing. She is interested in how communication technology can be used to make more positive change in the world.

Besides researching for Canada's World, Yishin is actively involved in Rural China Education Foundation, a worldwide non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of rural Chinese children through quality education.
