Jennifer
Community Outreach Intern
Jennifer Worboys is a first year graduate student at the University of Calgary working on a Master of Strategic Studies, at the Centre for Military and Strategic Studies. Jennifer completed a Bachelor of Arts undergraduate degree at Ryerson University, with a major in Criminal Justice and minor in Sociology. A key area of interest is the securitization of the state post-9/11, and the conflict of balancing Charter rights and freedoms and Anti-Terrorism (Bill C-36) legislation in Canada.
The internship at Canada's World is an opportunity to expand Jennifer¹s research and teamwork skills, and will provide an opportunity to take years of promotional experience and put it into practice for ForeignPolicyCamp (FPC). Not only will she be working on creating awareness of FPC, but she will also be collaborating with Sarina Piercy at the University of Alberta to help organize a satellite event in Edmonton. The goal of working on this project is to increase the accessibility of the dialogues that will be shared, and engage and receive feedback from other university students, professors, and others who have an interest in Canadian foreign policy. Jennifer will also be attending FPC in Vancouver and is looking forward to meeting other interns at Canada¹s World.
