Youth Civic Action Strategy Coordinator

Chris Kang has over 13 years of experience as a community builder and has served as Executive Director of Schools Without Borders since he co-founded it as a charity in 2003. Chris, who recently received Toronto Community Foundation's Vital People award, brings to Canada’s World and SWB his innovative and collaborative spirit and believes strongly that Canada needs an innovative organization to provide support and training for youth to enable them to fulfill their potential to make a real difference in the world. Chris has extensive experience designing and leading both local and international projects, with a focus in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and Nairobi, Kenya. Locally since November 2006, Chris has helped 7 youth-led initiatives in Toronto leverage $175,000 in funding for innovative projects that focus on keeping, building and sharing power in the community. Chris will work with Gavin to develop collaborative relationships with other youth-led organizations to help shape the Canada’s World dialogue.
