Valerie Percival

Valerie Percival is currently with the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs, Carleton University.  She studied at the University of Toronto, Carleton University and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.  Through previous positions at the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, the International Crisis Group, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, and the Peace Research Institute Oslo, she has experienced the difficulties of international engagement in conflict affected states, the challenges of policy development, and the risks and rewards of interdisplinary research.  Her current research focus is on the relationship between conflict and health.
