Tazeem Nathoo

 

Tazeem is an Executive Coach and a Senior Consultant. Her areas of specialty include Executive Search & Coaching, Governance, Leadership Development & Organization Effectiveness. Tazeem works in partnership with her clients in enabling them to achieve optimum organizational and personal success.

Tazeem has worked with a broad cross section of clients in the Public & Private Sector, including Financial Institutions, major Crown Corporations, Universities, Not-For-Profit Organizations and Professional Firms.

Prior to launching her Consulting & Coaching career, Tazeem was a Senior Executive at Vancity for 10 years. In her roles as Senior Vice President Operations and interim Chief Executive Officer, Tazeem was directly accountable for leading and managing the implementation of the company’s strategic plan and operating budgets. She championed customer-focused relationships, creation of a sales culture, diversification of the business, change management, skill building, process improvements, technological innovation and restructuring. Tazeem also led the HR and Corporate Responsibility functions at Vancity and played a pivotal role in positioning Vancity strategically as a leader in both these areas.

Tazeem has held senior level positions with BCHydro. She was one of the first female managers in the organization, instrumental in introducing groundbreaking programs and polices including an Employment Equity program and an innovative integrated Human Resources Strategy. She also played a key role in the start up phase of ICBC in bringing appropriate talent and setting the tone for a newly formed Crown Corporation.

Tazeem is an active member of the board for the BC Lottery Corporation and chairs the Human Resource committee of the Board. She is also a member of the Governance Committee.

Tazeem was on the Board of Governors at Simon Fraser University for 6 years and served as the Chair of the Board as well as Chair of the HR Committee. Her involvement with SFU continues through her role as a trustee of Simon Fraser University Foundation. In the past, she served for over12 years, as the Vice Chair of Aga Khan Foundation Canada, an international development agency. She was also on the board of Family Services of the North Shore for several years, The 2010 Olympic bid Corporation as well as US Business for Social Responsibility. She was on the Board of Governors for The Canadian Unity Council until 2006.

Tazeem is a recipient of the Woman of Distinction award from Vancouver YWCA. Tazeem has spoken internationally on the topics of leadership and management. She is a graduate of the Executive Development Program at Queen’s University, as well as the Center for Creative Leadership’s Executive Development Program for Women. She holds a Bachelors degree from the University of Leicester (UK). She earned her Coaching Certification in June, 2003 from The Hudson Institute of Santa Barbara CA. In November 2006, Tazeem completed the Institute of Directors Program.
