David Black is currently Chair of the Department of International Development Studies and Professor of Political Science at Dalhousie University. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Canadian Association for the Study of International Development (CASID) and was previously Co-Director of the Canadian Consortium on Human Security (CCHS).
His current research focuses primarily on Canada and Sub-Saharan Africa; he has published widely on Canada's role in North-South relations (including Development Assistance, Human Security, and Human Rights), the foreign policy of post-apartheid South Africa (notably on human rights and towards Africa), and on Sport and World Politics.
