Nancy McHarg

Nancy McHarg is Vice President, Strategic Counsel at James Hoggan and Associates, one of Western Canada’s leading public relations agencies. At Hoggan, Nancy provides strategic communications counsel for a number of BC’s leading organizations, which include private and public companies in the energy, consumer and financial services industries as well as universities, public schools and school boards, municipalities, property developers, and independent schools. Nancy is actively involved in Hoggan’s sustainability practice and in 2006 led a major research initiative that explored Canadians’ understanding and attitudes toward sustainability. As a volunteer, Nancy serves on the Board of Directors of Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, where she leads the communications and development committee. She has served for a number of years on the executive of the Parent Advisory Council and School Planning Council of her children’s school.

Nancy was born in Montreal. She completed a BA in Journalism at Concordia University and worked as a journalist for several years before taking her first public relations job at McGill University. She joined WIC Western International Communications when she moved to Vancouver in 1992 and also worked at Orca Bay Sports & Entertainment, before joining Hoggan in 2001.
